Hedy Adler and her husband, David, moved to Newton in July 2019. They have three adult children, Joshua, Rachel, and Sarah. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Case Western Reserve School of Law. She practiced as a Public Defender handling juvenile and adult felonies and misdemeanors and death penalty work. Hedy is the president of her family’s foundation, The Kangesser Foundation. While living in Cleveland, she was involved with the Jewish community. She was a trustee for the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, serving on its Endowment Committee, Allocations Committee, and Nachum Alzheimer and Dementia Committee. She is a lifetime trustee at The Mandel Jewish Day School (fka The Agnon School) and was a trustee for The Hathaway Brown School for Girls. She is a JF&CS Center for Basic Needs Advisory Committee member. Hedy and David are members of Temple Emanuel. In Hedy’s free time, she enjoys travel, reading, ceramics, and rowing.
