Support and independence for adults with disabilities, either in your own home or in one of ours.

Supported Living offers supports for physical, emotional, and social needs for adults with disabilities and autism living in the community, through one-on-one assistance, group assistance, and community social activities – helping them overcome challenges and pursue their personal goals.

We create a partnership with each individual to help them identify and work towards goals and build skills and confidence that lead to a more meaningful, purposeful and independent life. Whether it is expanding an individual’s social circle; receiving assistance with meal planning or paying bills; or coordinating a series of important medical appointments, each service plan is unique. All Supported Living clients are welcome to join our Jewish holiday celebrations and monthly Shabbat dinner at JF&CS.

Services Provided

Our staff provide coaching and life skills training that will impact their daily living, organizational, and social skills, as well as provide care coordination in which they work with an individual’s other providers, family, and support team. Using a clinically informed approach, our staff are able to provide coaching and emotional support throughout services to help clients achieve their goals. Examples of skills we support clients with include: money management, shopping and meal preparation, accessing the community, forming social connections, self-advocacy, healthy lifestyle skills and creating and keeping a schedule.

There are different tiers of service that go up to 10 hours/week of staffing support. There is a monthly program fee that covers all staffing support, with subsidies available to those who qualify. All other living costs, including rent, utilities, and food, are paid separately.

Where are Services Provided?

Supported Living supports individuals who live in their own apartment (with roommates or by themselves), a family member’s home, or one of our homes – within the Greater Boston community. For individuals who are looking for both housing and support, JF&CS offers two clusters of apartments within two buildings in Brighton, where staff facilitate community among residents and have frequent interaction with them.
