In this free session, you will learn what dementia is, what it’s like to live with it, and some tips for communicating with people who have dementia.
To increase public awareness of dementia and reduce stigma, JF&CS is making the international public awareness program Dementia Friends available in Massachusetts. Dementia Friends is a global movement developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom and is now underway across the United States. Dementia Friends helps everyone in a community understand what dementia is, how it affects people, and how each of us can make a difference.
As part of our efforts to help people better understand dementia, JF&CS and Dementia Friends Massachusetts offer information sessions regularly. In this information session about Dementia you will:
- Learn the 5 key messages about how dementia affects people.
- Gain insight into communication changes.
- Find out how you can make a difference by turning your understanding into action.
This session is available to adults and high school students living in Massachusetts and is offered free of charge.
Upon registering, Zoom will send you an automated confirmation email with your unique Zoom link to attend the meeting. If you do not receive this email, please email Jessica at jroque@jfcsboston.org.
