Chaverim Shel Shalom (Friends of Peace) is a program for Jewish adults with psychiatric challenges. Participants meet to participate in a study session relating to Jewish texts, customs, or holidays over a meal and for a monthly social event such as a game night or dance. The programs are co-facilitated by a professional in the field of Behavioral Health and a Rabbi and are free of charge.
Chaverim Chaim (Friends for Life) is a social group for adults with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, and/or autism. All events focus on socializing in an environment with a Jewish content. Events including Shabbat dinners, movie nights, and Jewish holiday celebrations are offered monthly and at no cost to participants. Chaverim Chaim is funded by CJP and is a collaboration of JF&CS, Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters.
